We leave Bangkok at 0700 hours and depart to Ayutthaya or the Ancient City as it is also known. The Ancient City is one of Thailand's most historic and majestic highlights. The city was destroyed by the Burmese army in1767 and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. A large number of palaces temples and chedis are still standing. In 1782 Bangkok became the capital of Thailand.
We visit Wat Chai watthanaram, Wat Yai Chi Mongkhon, Wat Lokayasutha. Wat Phra Si Samphet is the main temple complex left over from Ayuthaya’s golden age. We visit the ancient palace and Vihan Mongkol Bopit one of the largest bronze buddhas in Thailand.
At 12.30 we have lunch (included). Afterwards we visit Wat Phra Mahathat, one of the most imposing ancient Buddhist monasteries. This temple is located on the bank of Chao Phaya River. King Prasatthong commanded the building of architecture influenced by the Khmer style in 1630. It is one of Ayutthaya's most beautiful temples and a major tourist attraction.
Returning from Ayutthaya we go to Bang Pa-In, at approx 1430, the former royal summer retreat of the 17th century kings of Ayutthaya. Not to be missed, very picturesque, this present-day royal palace dates from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910). Most of the buildings standing today were constructed between 1872-1889.
We arrive back in Bangkok at 17.00

- Pick up tourists from various points in Khao San area.
- Departure from Bangkok to Ayutthaya or Ancient City.
- Visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. The temple is located outside the city of Ayutthaya. It was built by King U Thong in 1357 for meditation.
- Visit the Ancient Palace and Wat Phra Si Sanphet also Vihan Phra Mongkol Bopit, one of the largest bronze buddhas in Thailand.

- Visit Wat Lokayasutha, the image of reclining Buddha.
12.30 PM
- Lunch at the restaurant. Thai food will be served.
- After lunch visit Wat Phra Mahathat. This temple is located in front of the Grand Palace.
- Visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram, one of the most imposing ancient Buddhist monasteries. This temple is located on the bank of Chao Phaya River. King Prasatthong commanded the building of architecture influenced by Khmer.
- Visit Bang Paa Inn Summer Palace
- Return to Bangkok (see below)
