It is easy to get to Khao San Road from Bangkok's airport.

1. There is an airport bus that will take you there for 150 baht.
2. If there are 2 or more of you travelling it may be better if you take a taxi; it should be about 350 baht on the meter plus a 50 baht airport charge.

The airport train link which will take you to Central Bangkok is still under construction and should be finished by late 2009. For trips around Bangkok there is the Chao Praya tourist boat which leaves from the Pra Artit pier which will take you to many points along the river. The cost will be 17 baht. Buses are plentiful and the red buses are not air conditioned but they are very cheap. Numbers 2 and 15 (red) will take you to Sukhumvit and Siam Square respectively. The blue 511 bus will take you to Sukhumvit via Siam Square.
